Michael Hanada was born in Portland and worked as a website developer while attending Lewis & Clark College. He has been a police officer since 2004, was promoted to detective in 2008 to investigate complex financial crimes to include embezzlement, credit card skimming, and computer crimes. In 2011 Det. Hanada was assigned to the FBI’s Northwest Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory as a forensic examiner with the FBI’s Computer Analysis Response Team. During the last four years Det. Hanada has provided forensic services to investigators on credit card skimming cases and organized retail theft involving dozens of electronic devices. In 2015 Det. Hanada received certification as a Computer Forensic Analyst specializing in the detection of an Advanced Persistent Threats, which are responsible for massive data breaches of financial and corporate networks.
