Michael Slauson works with the Attorney General on important public safety issues, assists with the department’s legislative efforts on criminal law topics, acts as a liaison to Oregon’s district attorneys and members of law enforcement, and serves as the chair of the department’s legal ethics committee. Michael joined the Oregon Department of Justice in 2001 as an honors attorney. He spent his first year with the Appellate Division before moving to the Criminal Justice Division for 11 years, where he provided assistance to district attorneys and their staff and prosecuted a broad array of criminal cases. Michael received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon, and a J.D. from the University of Arizona College of Law.
