Doug Pearson is the Chief Investigator of ORDOJ’s Charitable Activities Section where he has worked as an Investigator and Audit Coordinator since 2002.  Prior to joining the Department, he was an in-house investigator at a Portland law office for several years.  Doug holds a Master’s Degree from PSU, is a Certified Fraud Examiner and former President of the Oregon Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.  Prior to entering management, he was personally involved in investigating hundreds of cases involving financial malfeasance and fraud in Oregon’s nonprofit sector and has been active in the Department’s education outreach to the public and nonprofit community. When not at work or thinking about work, Doug enjoys working on his property, backpacking and fly fishing throughout the Western US and Canada.  He is a retired mountain rescue volunteer but continues to volunteer as an EMT in various capacities including the American Red Cross.  He leaves for Patagonia shortly after this conference…
